- Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca - Monterey, California
Care Level Racing/Moton 2-Way Motorsport shock equipped Porsche 997 GT3 Cup car, driven by Bob Faieta, from Tujunga, Calif., Clinches the 2007 IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge championship.
Faieta's win in Saturday's Round 10 of the 2007 IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge put his #4 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup on the pole for the final Round 11. Scardina finished in second on Saturday but had an off that put him back in the field unable to challenge for the lead or hang on for another second place finish that would have tied the two competitors in points and also in 4 wins each.
This final round would be a mini enduro at one hour fifteen minutes that some thought would stretch these car to the mileage limit based on their fuel capacity, but with cautions this issue never materialized. Bob ran a very clean race and was able to lead all but the very first lap of the 43 lap race. This compared with the 16 lap race on Saturday. Laguna Seca is a physically challenging course so this race is a good stint that definately demonstrates those drivers who are doing endurance training as well as driving practice in preparation.
We basically had no issues all weekend and that's what it takes to win here. Be consistent, stay out of trouble and stay in the lead. The car performed perfectly with the Moton Shocks, Michelin tires, and legendary Porsche reliability.
CareLevel Racing driver and team principal Steve Goldman has been working his way up the order this season and although he was caught out by other cars in their off course excursions this weekend which made battling back to into the top group impossible, he will be a force to reckon with next season. Look for a new 3rd driver to be announced for next season.

Care Level Racing/Moton 2-Way Motorsport shock equipped Porsche 997 GT3 Cup car, driven by Bob Faieta, from Tujunga, Calif., back on top with 3rd win of the season in the 2007 IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge championship.
On Friday the 19th Bob Faieta did the job and put his #4 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup on the pole with a time of 1:28.804 just 0.038 second ahead of series points leader Charles Scardina.
In the race at Laguna Seca Bob was able to maintain the lead through the short stints of green flag racing seen throughout this weekend in every class as cars fell off. With three caution periods, there were only 7 laps of racing under the green flag, and the last 4 laps were run under caution.
Faieta's win and a second place finish by Scardina means Bob Fieata has closed with in 2 points of the championship and the result could be determined by other than points if they end up 1 and 2 the second race on Sunday. This race however will be a mini enduro with 1 hour and 15 minutes of total race time. This is going to be exciting.
IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Series
The IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge doesn't allow professional drivers, so the field is filled with talented club racers who have an opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities, and learn what it takes to enter professional racing.
One of the big issues with the series is car to car - contact not allowed in club racing. To be in the points you have to finish, so learning to stay out of trouble and to avoid those drivers who think the rules are for everyone else while fighting for position can be difficult.
IMSA officals have demonstrated they intend to enforce sportsman like behavior though and have already sent drivers home that don't practice good clean racing. Bob has been working hard this season to avoid such drivers and get out front with enough lead to stay clear of trouble.
